South Carolina alcohol server certification
How to Get Your South Carolina Alcohol Server Certificate
Complete an approved online course and proctored exam, receive your unique certificate number, and use SCDOR’s official portal to download your state-issued certificate.
Four required steps
From Training to Your Official Certificate
The course-completion record from LemonTree and the official certificate from SCDOR are separate documents.
1. Complete Approved Online Training
South Carolina requires an approved online training program of at least four hours. Complete every required LemonTree module using your own learner account.
2. Pass the Proctored Final Exam
The final exam is monitored online. LemonTree requires a score of at least 80%, an approved proctored result, and valid required learner information before completion is issued.
3. Receive Your Certificate Number
After all completion gates are satisfied, LemonTree issues its course-completion certificate and a unique alcohol server certificate number. The record is placed in an audited state-report batch and is treated as submitted only after ABL retrieves the batch.
4. Download the SCDOR Certificate
SCDOR separately processes the reported completion and issues the official South Carolina Alcohol Server Certificate. Use your name and certificate number in the official portal. SCDOR says the certificate should be available within two weeks.
Keep the official credential available
Certificate Validity and Recordkeeping
The SCDOR Alcohol Server Certificate is valid for three years. Servers must keep a digital or physical copy available while serving alcohol, and employers must keep a copy at the licensed premises for the duration of employment.
